Medics Training Incorporated employs certified instructors who offer top quality training. Our professional medical staff includes the expertise of M.D.'s, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical responders. These experts have "in the field" experience to reinforce the reality of what truly occurs during an emergency.

Denny Nothnagel | Owner | Emergency Medical Technician

Denny got his start in the EMS field in June of 1973.
He held many positions as a firefighter and paramedic until injuries forced his retirement from the street April 30 of 2004.
In January of 1985 Denny and Paul Asted teamed up to form Medics Training Incorporated.
They remained partners in the corporation until January of 2000, at which time Paul sold his interest in MTI to Denny, who continues to be the sole owner today.
June of 2019 began his 46th year of providing EMS to the State of Minnesota.

Gregory Bortnem; BS | Emergency Medical Technician

Graduate of The South Dakota State University
Served in US Army – Active/Reserve/National Guard duty
Retired Law Enforcement Sergeant. Worked for departments in South Dakota and Iowa.
Managed community congregate living facilities for medically fragile adults with developmental disabilities and for individuals with traumatic brain injuries.

Paul Asted | Emergency Medical Technician
BLS Instructor
Paul Asted has been a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for 30 years. For 6 years he was a full time nationally certified Paramedic. He also has been teaching emergency care for thirty years and owned and operated his own emergency training company for 12 years.
Paul received his Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Sociology from Lycoming College in Williamsport Pennsylvania and his Masters of Education from Pennsylvania State University. Paul strives to help people every day by offering skills and services which protect their lives and their lifestyle.
Paul has a passion for hunting and fishing and loves to snorkel and Dive in Cozumel. He and his wife Kathy enjoy boating and annually spend three weeks together in Cozumel enjoying the sun, warm water, fun people and great food.

Blair McCartney | Emergency Medical Technician
BLS Instructor
Blair has been an emergency medical technician for 16 years.
While working as an emergency room technician and certified nursing assistant Blair continued college at Anoka Technical College finishing her generals and completing her EMS diploma.
Blair has been volunteering for various events throughout the years and has been on Oak Grove Fire since 2011.
She also teaches for Allina Health and enjoys providing her community with the best knowledge she can to help train and keep everyone safe
